The auto focus seems to be working fine with a Quantaray 55-200 mm 1:4-5.6 lens.\015\012\015\012I purchased the camera & the 18-135 mm lens as a kit more than a year ago.\015\012\015\012Can you suggest how to fix this problem prolem?\015
Try re-setting the camera? On the D40 it is 'Menu' scroll down one to Custom Setting Menu (a pencil) and click reset 'ok' yes 'ok' this worked for me.

Besides the F-err with 18-135 lens, I have not experienced other problems yet. I hope and pray to whatever powers there be it stays that way. One way I have tried to get around this problem i
