Nikon D40 pictures taken but too dark even in AUTO mode with flash on a bright day. also, some days ago I had the Shutter release error message while taking some photos. After that, the camera is acting weird, pictures sometimes are taken but the picture is always dark, although flash is used and AUTO mode selected. I do not see the error message anymore, but the camera simply do not take pictures properly. I tried formatting, etc with no result.

Black photos When I turn on my camera (Nikon Coolpix S5, I believe), I can access old photos and see the symbols that are usually on the screen when it used to take photos. However, if I take a photo with it, it is just black. The camera flashes and acts like it has taken a photo. There is no lens cap, so that is not the problem. Is the camera simply broken?
This is unfortunately one ccd fault...you must change the ccd of the camera. it s possible to find the entire lens block in international seller for many types of camera...search if you can find your lens to a good price and prove to change it alone ... Digital Cameras
Nikon L10 has developed a flickering screen overlay (zoning lines or actions such as alter flash priority) When trying to close off the menu overlay a section of it remains and obscures the view from the lens. When a photo CAN be taken the image stays on the screen until the camera is forcibly shut down. The photo IS saved but all this makes a helluva nuisance to use.

When I connect my camera to my computer, it appears to be empty. I have over 1000 photos on it which show on the camera screen, but the computer sees none. I have even tried downloading the drivers and 'Nikon transfer' package from the disk that came with the box. I am using windows xp. Why does my computer not read the camera? When I open the S52 folder in my computer, there are no files. When I then press 'get pictures from camera' it says that the camera is in use. What am I doing wrong?!
First of all, why on earth would you keep 1000 pics on the memory card? They are not meant for storage....they can be easily corrupted and you could lose your pics. You need to get a card reader and use it to download your pics. Then, format the card ... Nikon COOLPIX S52 Digital Camera

After almost two years, pictures taken with my Nikon D80 are showing a black dot in the middle of the photo. You can't see it in the view finder and it shows up on all the pictures I take regardless of which lens I use. The mirror inside the camera does not have the black dot on it either. Is it a problem with the sensor? How can I get it fixed?
Your sensor has some dust stuck to the sensor. You will have to take it to a service center, they will clean up the sensor for you. It is inexpensive. ... Nikon D80 Digital Camera with 18-135mm Lens

But for some reason unknown to me, the camera will suddently quit recording the images to the disc. Another thing how do I correct the pictures that has the black shadow, since it is made already. Thank you [email protected]
A huge possibility, without actually seeing the picture is that it's a shadow caused by the lens hood. The internal flash units are "generally" good for up to about 80mm then the focal length of the lens starts getting in the flash burst, add a hood ... Nikon D90 Digital Camera with 18-105mm lens
I have a Coolpix L100, and have installed the Nikon Transfer software. I am using a USB cable (that came with the camera) to connect my PC (Windows XP) to the camera. Have Nikon Coolpix 885 dig. camera, bought in 2000, still works OK. I had been transferring the photos to my old computer using "Nikon View" 5 version 5.0.0 software that came with the camera and my Windows XP operating system with no problems.
