\015 Every time that I turn my camera on, I keep getting this message: "REMOVE LENS CAP AND PRESS > BUTTON," however, the lens cap isn't on the camera. When I press the > button it just comes right back up. This problem has been consistant for a month now and I cant figure out what else to do to fix it myself. Is there anything that I can do personally to fix it? (Panasonic hasnt been any help.)Any information on this matter would be very much appreciated.\015
\015\012In my case, this didn't work, so I disassembled the camera following these instructions and the comments by other users: http://www.instructables.com/id/Repair-Stuck-Lens-on-Panasonic-FZ5/
\015\012I was able to get my camera working again. After seeing the inner workings of the camera, it appears that if you force the lens too much, you could break the cogs inside if you force it too hard. If the cogs are in place, they will prevent you from moving the lens very much.
