Shutter button on my digital rebel xt stopped working. I can press down far enough (halfway) to get it to focus but then it won't click all the way down and release. For several months before this final calamity, it would frequently happen that when I went to take a photo the button wouldn't engage at all and I'd have to try several times and miss the shot I wanted before I could get the shutter button to engage. Now that it's not working at all, I sent it to Canon for repair and have just rec

Overexposed photos?? when i hit my shutter release button, sometimes the flash doesn't pop up and the view finder goes black. (it's like the camera is taking a picture but when I release my finger from the shutter release button it doesn't release) The only way to "get out of it" is to turn the camera off then back on. when i go to playback...it is a white picture. are my settings messed up and how do i avoid this in the future. Many picture moments are missed because of this!
The view finder "going black" on an SLR is caused by the mirror being up, which is also when the camera is actually taking the picture! The mirror sends the light from the lens to either the viewfinder or the sensor. When it's down, the light goes ... Nikon D80 Digital Camera with 18-135mm Lens

If I continue to hold the shutter half way down, then release it I get Err 99. I am using genuine Canon lens' and have tried all three. Hi i am using a Nikon N75 to take pictures for my photo class, and the instructor wants us to take low light indoor phtotos at a shutter speed of 1/30 at f2.2. However, when i go to set these settings in manual mode the camera will not let me set my aperture to 2.2 it usually stops at 4 and there is no way i can make it 2.2. i didn't know if there is a limitation on the camera but it seems like i should be able to select what i want.
It's probably a limitation of your lens. You didn't say what lens you're using, but one of the common kit lenses sold with the N75 only goes to f/3.3 at best. If you had a lens that opens up more, the camera will let you use it.The differ ... Nikon Digital Cameras

I bought a second hand d70s. it seems to have a problem. the shutter release button does not seem to do anything when pressed half way (like auto focus). I can only get autofocus to work if i program AE-L/AF-L button to AF-ON. I press the AE-L/AF-L button on the back, then press the shutter to take the shot. And if i set the AE Lock On, pressing the shutter button half way does not lock the exposure setting. so there seems to be an issue with the shutter button itself...is there an easy fi

Camera takes photos without actually "focusing" on the object. Seems their is no "prefocus" with the button. As soon as you touch the focus button, the camera automatically takes the photo. When the camera was working correctly, you'd push the focus button half way down and then it would do it's job. Now it just takes the shot if you barely even touch the button. Not good...........

Camera will not focus correctly. when shutter button is pushed half way down the picture goes blurry, and if you take the photo it actually turns out blurry.
If you are taking close up photos, you might have to use the "macro" setting. The auto focus only works down to around 5 or 6 feet I think. I have an earlier model of that camera. I use mine for normal use and also close up for work related photos. ... Fuji FinePix S5500 Digital Camera
My Nikon CoolPix 5700 seems confused about OFF and ON, and now I can't take a photo becase it won't stay ON long enough for me to press the shutter release. The problem appears a bit like a low-battery issue, but I have been placing totally recharged batteries (as fas as I can tell) in it (two different ones) over and over, and still the camera turns on and off at will. Any ideas? Is there a way to totally reboot the camera, like one reboots hard drives? Thank you.

Nikon FM: Shutter release button will not allow me to take another photo and I'm only on frame 15 of a roll of 24. The film advance lever does not move the film, but it does open all the way to the right & shows the lights on inside (so the battery is OK). I changed the battery just in case, but that didn't solve the problem. I'm wondering if the film somehow came undone inside.
The FM is a mechanical camera, the batteries only power the metering system. Sometimes what happens is when you buy film say in 4 roll packages, they give you 3 24 exps and a 12 exp. I suggest that you rewind the roll and check this. You will only ... Nikon Digital Cameras
To adjust the focus on the camera you are suppose to press the shutter button halfway down and it will lock your focus in and then press the shutter button again and take the picture. It was working fine and the next time I turned my camera on this option would not work. I try the press the shutter button down halfway the it does nothing. All I can do now it press it all the way to take the picture. I have an Olympus E-420 digital SLR camera.
